today we are going to be talking about
0:01
the crucial aspect of dealing with
0:04
narcissist in court or negotiation and
0:08
whether or not you should be bringing in
0:10
expert Witnesses and they can make or
0:13
break you they can make or break a case
0:16
I’ve had good ones I’ve had bad ones in
0:19
my more than 20 years of dealing with
0:21
cases and dealing with trials they can
0:24
be expensive frankly they can really
0:26
really help a case or they can hurt a
0:28
case and they can be really really game
0:30
changers or they can do nothing for you
0:34
or they can actually even hurt
0:38
[Applause]
0:40
you hi everybody and welcome back to my
0:43
channel if you’re new here I’m Rebecca
0:46
zung I’m a globally recognized attorney
0:49
a negotiations and high conflict
0:52
Communications expert I’m also the
0:54
author of slay the bully how to
0:56
negotiate with a narcissist and win and
0:59
well welcome I invite you to subscribe
1:02
and hit that notification Bell if you’re
1:04
new here because I’m here every single
1:07
day giving you tips and tricks on how to
1:10
fight back against that narcissist
1:12
whether you’re dealing with them in a
1:14
negotiation setting a work setting a
1:17
family setting whatever setting I want
1:20
you to become the most powerful version
1:22
of yourself in dealing with narcissist
1:26
or navigating high conflict situations
1:28
and get a powerful resolution and become
1:31
the most powerful version of yourself
1:33
they can come in in a variety of
1:35
different ways whether or not it’s a
1:37
financial situation whether for the kids
1:41
if you’re in a family LW situation I
1:43
want to help you with key strategies to
1:46
understand how to effectively use expert
1:49
witnesses to your advantage a lot of
1:52
times people think oh you know I only
1:54
need them for court I disagree with that
1:57
I think that honestly if you have a
1:59
really good expert witness you can
2:01
actually get your case bolstered get it
2:03
ready and even use them and and prepare
2:09
what you have to get somebody to be
2:13
motivated to want to resolve issues with
2:17
you long before you get to that
2:19
situation you can even use their
2:23
information in a regular negotiation you
2:26
know I was having a situation recently
2:28
with a family member who wanted to sell
2:30
their company and I said hey go get your
2:34
business valuated and then go and
2:37
approach that person with a strong
2:40
position with a business valuation so
2:43
that that person will know that this is
2:47
indeed the value of the business before
2:51
you go there so in other words there’s
2:53
something where you can use that
2:55
information from the expert to
2:58
potentially influence what
3:00
that other person was going to think or
3:02
believe or be persuaded that way so you
3:05
know expert witnesses can be useful not
3:08
just in legal battles but in any kind of
3:10
a negotiation even preuit hopefully or
3:15
pre-negotiation so that the person can
3:17
be persuaded especially if they see the
3:19
person’s credentials they understand
3:21
that the person is neutral if they feel
3:23
like the person’s neutral let’s talk
3:25
about psychological experts first in
3:29
some cases let’s say it’s a it’s a
3:32
custody situation so what you want to do
3:37
and I talk about this in some of my
3:39
other videos as well which you can check
3:41
out is you know what you’re dealing with
3:45
is you’re over here going I don’t want
3:48
my kids with this other person or maybe
3:51
I don’t want this person to have my kids
3:54
5050 or whatever it is well the first
3:57
thing that I would say to you is and
3:59
I’ve had this ation with a lot of
4:01
clients over the years and now I certify
4:04
people in high conflict negotiation and
4:07
so you know I would even say to the
4:10
coaches that I train you know if you’re
4:13
coaching somebody through a situation if
4:15
it’s not
4:16
50% you know the other person’s not
4:18
going to get zero so where are you going
4:21
to land on this are you going to land on
4:23
40% 30% 20% you know where are you going
4:26
to land and so how are you going to get
4:29
to to that number and you’ve got to be
4:31
able to support that number and it’s a
4:33
whole lot easier if you’ve got a neutral
4:37
third party who can help you get there
4:40
otherwise you’re going to just sound
4:42
like you are a controlling parent who
4:46
just doesn’t want the other person to
4:48
have their kids you really want somebody
4:50
who’s going to be able to say listen I
4:54
am a psychological expert I have visited
4:57
both homes I’ve done all the
5:00
psychological testing on both parties
5:03
I’ve observed the children with both
5:05
parties I have interviewed piano teacher
5:09
the baseball coach seeing the children
5:11
in both homes or whatever it is I’ve
5:14
looked into the situation I’ve really
5:16
looked under the hood and I understand
5:19
what the context is and then they also
5:22
will do a report based on the factors in
5:26
the statute so the best interest of the
5:28
child Factor in the statute because
5:31
that’s what the judge is going to be
5:32
interested in the judge is going to be
5:34
interested in the law you’re over here
5:36
based in emotion and I love my kids and
5:39
I want to protect my children and I
5:41
don’t think this other person should
5:42
have them because of X Y and Z you have
5:46
a lot of emotion wrapped up in it
5:48
whereas the judge has to look how do the
5:52
facts line up with the factors in the
5:56
best interest of the child statute which
5:59
for your state you know assuming you’re
6:01
in the United States which I’m sure that
6:03
if you’re not watching this from the
6:05
United States wherever you are whatever
6:08
the equivalent is in your country for
6:12
the laws around the children you have to
6:15
just look at the law as it applies to
6:19
your particular situation so in our
6:21
country every state has something called
6:24
the best interest of the child and
6:25
that’s the overall standard but the
6:29
itself in each state there’s going to be
6:33
factors there’s going to be elements
6:35
within that statute so you know like I
6:38
know in Florida there’s like 17 factors
6:42
okay and each one of those is something
6:44
that the court has to weigh every other
6:47
state has a different number of them but
6:50
you have to weigh each one of them and
6:52
you take the facts and you you apply
6:55
them how can you help how can you help
6:57
your psychological expert by taking the
7:00
elements of that statute and I mean I
7:04
would just literally take a binder take
7:07
a a red well take you know something and
7:10
start organizing all of your facts all
7:14
of your documentation according to the
7:17
elements of that statute so that you
7:19
have it all organized and ready to go
7:21
and that’s what I help you do through my
7:23
sleigh program my proven blueprint so
7:26
that you can actually start putting it
7:29
together start lining it up because you
7:31
can always influence you can always make
7:35
your argument accordingly because
7:38
there’s always going to be ways that you
7:40
can fashion it and and make it you know
7:43
there’s always summaries you can do and
7:45
listen there’s a summary of Lies There’s
7:47
a summary of inconsistent statements
7:48
There’s a summary of all the times they
7:49
relate all you know whatever it is to
7:53
say hey 58% of the time they said this
7:56
or so yeah 73% of the time they relate
7:59
or whatever so you can sort of be able
8:03
to influence what the person is seeing
8:06
and see it through that lens and so then
8:08
that way they can evaluate was there
8:12
emotional damage was their stress that
8:16
was put upon this child or this family
8:19
or this person or you know whether it
8:21
was you you know if it’s a different
8:23
type of a claim that you’re making maybe
8:26
it’s a work claim maybe it’s a that you
8:28
were dismissed when you shouldn’t have
8:30
been or whatever it is but this way you
8:33
can provide context whoever it is the
8:36
psychological expert can see the
8:41
patterns of abuse and how it it affected
8:45
whoever the victims are over time and
8:50
then they can see the gaslighting they
8:52
can see the manipulation but you it’s
8:54
not just you coming in and saying it
8:57
this way you’re almost us using this
9:01
expert as your mouthpiece but it’s being
9:05
supported by actual facts and
9:07
documentation and within the context of
9:11
the law which is what the judge wants to
9:16
see and needs to see in order to make
9:19
their determination so that’s a
9:21
psychological expert so anytime somebody
9:24
says I want psychological testing
9:26
they’re not going to just do
9:28
psychological testing you know and I say
9:30
that all the time without really good
9:33
reason but if you put something in issue
9:36
that they need to have psychological
9:39
testing done like best interest of the
9:41
child now we’re cooking now we’re
9:44
cooking with gas that’s the
9:45
psychological expert right is this
9:47
making sense if this is making sense put
9:49
make sense in the comments below making
9:52
sense so far so that’s psychological
9:55
experts the next one is financial
9:58
experts Financial experts can be used in
10:01
so many different Realms business
10:03
situations probate litigation almost
10:07
anything honestly certainly in divorce
10:10
cases lifestyle what somebody’s true
10:13
income is child support you need to know
10:17
for even attorney fees a lot of times
10:20
need versus ability to pay Financial
10:23
experts are essential especially in
10:26
divorce any kind of financial dispute
10:28
any kind kind of business valuation
10:31
situation what can a forensic do here
10:35
they can trace hidden assets they can
10:38
analyze financial statements they can
10:40
testify about the economic in impact of
10:45
narcissist actions so they can uncover
10:47
hidden assets they can go to Great
10:49
Lengths to do that I know that
10:53
narcissist many times people think that
10:56
they have been hiding assets and many
10:58
times they do offshore Investments
11:01
concealing assets I know many times in
11:03
divorce it’s very pivotal in making sure
11:06
that you know that you’re getting a fair
11:09
division of property or you know what
11:11
somebody’s true income is here’s the
11:13
thing I’m going to tell you about that
11:15
you want to make sure you’re getting a
11:16
return on your investment these kinds of
11:18
financial experts can be expensive
11:20
especially if you’re trying to trace
11:22
offshore assets and you’re going on this
11:24
wild goose chase to figure out if
11:26
somebody actually is making more money
11:29
then they say they are and they have got
11:31
a cash business and all that sort of
11:33
thing so you really want to make sure
11:35
that you’re going to have a return on
11:36
your investment with this you know you
11:38
don’t want to chase good money after bad
11:41
you know a lot of times there’s a much
11:44
bigger fear than there actually is of
11:47
what’s actually been happening so you
11:49
just want to make sure that you are not
11:54
into your head with a lot of this sort
11:56
of thing and you really do know hey I’m
11:59
I’m going to spend 20,000 but I’m going
12:02
to recover you know 200 or whatever it
12:05
is or I’m going to spend 20 and I’m
12:06
going to recover a million or something
12:08
to that effect because or at least you
12:10
you know like I’m going to prove that
12:13
they spent x amount and that way I can
12:16
put that amount on the spreadsheet and
12:20
I’ll get credit for that amount
12:22
something to that effect they can
12:24
analyze financial statements especially
12:27
complex ones I’ve had situ situations
12:30
where you know I’ve had corporate
12:32
Executives who’ been working out of the
12:34
country or they have um very complex
12:38
ways that they get paid because of how
12:42
their stock schedules get vested or
12:44
things like that it can be very very
12:47
useful and helpful for that definitely
12:50
very very helpful for those kinds of
12:53
things quantifying and looking at
12:57
Future how much somebody might be be
13:00
getting paid that that kind of thing
13:02
what their vested stock values are going
13:05
to be so that’s Financial experts tax
13:09
impact on things really really helpful
13:12
many times for financial experts you
13:15
really need them for that sort of thing
13:17
honestly and by the way if you’re
13:19
getting ready to negotiate with a
13:21
narcissist make sure to get my free
13:23
Crush my negotiation prep Playbook so
13:26
helpful to get you started you can get
13:28
that at way in my negotiation. comom and
13:31
join my free private Facebook group
13:33
narcissist negotiators with Rebecca zong
13:36
really really helpful for you to have a
13:38
support group next thing is medical
13:40
experts you know especially if you have
13:43
had health issues you are claim you’re
13:46
actually you know having issues because
13:50
of the physical health that you’ve had
13:52
they can provide testimony about the
13:54
impact the severity of it if you’ve had
13:57
physical injuries you you might need Med
13:59
medical experts to testify as to that
14:02
why you can’t work and explaining the
14:05
severity if you have other issues stress
14:09
related things that sort of thing
14:12
invaluable because especially if you are
14:15
asking for support of any time so if you
14:17
guys have had to use expert Witnesses
14:20
for anything I would love to know your
14:21
comments remember you can hire them for
14:25
your own case that would be your own
14:28
expert or you can go to the court and
14:31
have them appointed as a neutral third
14:34
party if you do that and you ask the
14:37
court to appoint one my recommendation
14:42
for that is that you bring three names
14:46
that you’re okay with because then any
14:49
one of the three are somebody that
14:52
you’re going to be okay with you know
14:54
don’t just say point one ask for who you
14:56
might be okay with if possible go ahead
14:59
and share your stories in the comments
15:01
of the expert witnesses that you have
15:03
used the next kind of expert might be
15:06
like a domestic violence expert who can
15:10
testify as to the cycle of abuse the
15:13
cycle of power the cycle of the impact
15:16
on the victims they can assess the risk
15:21
you know I haven’t really used that kind
15:23
of expert myself that much you know most
15:25
of the time in domestic violence cases
15:27
they don’t really go there but you know
15:29
you could try for that the next one is
15:33
technology and cyber security experts in
15:36
our increasingly Digital World
15:39
technology and cyber Security Experts
15:41
are becoming much much more important in
15:44
cases they can look at threatening
15:47
emails they can look at computers they
15:50
can look at
15:51
spyware they can trace the sources of
15:55
things as much as possible it’s really
15:58
kind of a crazy world that we live in
16:01
nowadays and in my sleigh program I do
16:03
have a whole thing on tracking and
16:06
hacking devices and spyware and all of
16:08
that and how you can detect it and how
16:10
you can figure it out so I definitely
16:12
recommend that you check that out at
16:15
slay
16:16
ornation protective measures so
16:18
important nowadays all right so it’s
16:22
better to you know get it on the front
16:24
end and try to figure it out on the back
16:27
end just saying this is you know just a
16:29
few of the types of expert Witnesses in
16:34
narcissist abuse cases that you can use
16:37
there’s so many other I mean you know
16:39
really there’s all different types of
16:41
experts that you can bring in but those
16:42
are like the main ones that I’ve seen I
16:44
would love to know what your experience
16:47
is they can really make a significant
16:49
difference I’ve seen bad ones I’ve had
16:51
to like OU them right in the middle of
16:54
trial sometimes because I found out they
16:55
were supposed to be neutral and working
16:57
with the other side it’s crazy if you
17:00
are dealing with a narcissist right now
17:03
you know make sure that you have
17:05
subscribed here you hit that
17:06
notification Bell make sure you like
17:09
this video make sure you share it with
17:10
others if you found this video helpful
17:13
just you know remember that they only
17:15
win if you give in and I’ve had so many
17:18
people win you can win this you
17:21
absolutely can wherever you are as is
17:22
the jumping off point I promise you so
